Planning for the future!
Harwin Park is a much-loved park near Houston's Alief neighborhood. Void of all but a perimeter walking trail and a small play feature, the park consists primarily of open play space and well-tended, community-planted trees. The park's nearest neighbors are corporate complexes and residential neighborhoods, both of whom use the park extensively for walking and running. One such park neighbor, MiSWACO, approached the Houston Parks Board with a desire to add facilities to Harwin Park in conjunction with other corporate neighbors and the local community.
Improvements that have been proposed include:
- Playground expansion
- Expanded/improved trails
- Stroll garden
- Landscaping
- Picnic shelter
- Lighting
- Fencing
The Houston Parks Board has developed a conceptual master plan which is under review by the community and the City of Houston Parks and Recreation Department. |
