The Houston Parks Board was pleased to partner with the Idylwood community to complete Spurlock Park renovations including a 350-foot trail extension to a newly acquired addition to the park, new handicap ramps, lighting enhancement, site beautification, and clean-up of a wooded drainage swale. The park received its wonderful expansion as a result of the acquisition of a former residential lot through the FEMA buyout program.
In the future, we hope to continue enhancements to Spurlock Park with additional trail extensions into the interior of the park.
Many Thanks to the John P. McGovern Foundation, Robert W. & Pearl Wallis Knox Foundation, Amegy Bank, The Congregation of the Sisters of Charity, and many others.
